Circa 1880, top quality Victorian oak open bookcase, with a stylish architectural pediment and various shaped mouldings applied decorations. Beneath this are two open sections, which are faced with ribbed and fluted plasters. There are four adjustable solid oak shelves on both sides, with a stylish facing also. At the bottom of the top section there is a triangle pattern carved into the oak. The bottom section is similar to the top, with one adjustable shelf on either side. The back of the bookcase is tongue and grooved stained beech, and beneath the bottom section there are various mouldings that slightly kick forward toes to give the bookcase a stylish end. Excellent size, stylish, good colour, with a phenomenal capacity of seven metres of space.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
