      This is an antique prie dieu dating to the early Victorian period, c.1850.

      Raised on turned front legs and swept rear, all riding upon the original brass castors, this attractive chair is framed in rosewood contrasting beautifully with the cream needlepoint upholstery.

      Traditionally stuffed, the seat pad is in good order decorated, along with the back panel, with a rich tapestry of flora and fauna in mellow pastel shades.

      The barley twist stiles rise into blind fret, carved brackets beneath a scrolled, carved crest rail. The plain finished back panel making it ideal for centre room placement.

      A classic piece in fine order. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.

      This is a set of 4 Victorian, antique dining chairs dating back to the 19th century. 

      The dark Japanned, lacquered, frames are beautifully highlighted with mother of pearl inlaid garlands, foliate and floral detail accentuated by gold leaf highlights.

      The splayed tapering and turned front legs and circular section rear are united by a box stretcher with the fore most delicately turned. The pinched stiles rise into the shaped crest rail above the swagged splat.

      In proportion to the construct, the caned seat is held within a formed frame at a comfortable height. Bergere cane seating in good order save for some expected sag consistent with use in two of the chairs.

      A beautiful set of chairs with solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
