An exquisite porcelain plaque, finely decorated with delicate polychrome painting depicting a dramatic genre scene of a card game. The composition is inspired by a work of the French Baroque master Valentin de Boulogne (1591–1632), known for his emotionally charged Caravaggesque scenes. The moment captures the tension of the game: one player secretly hides a card in an act of deception, while his opponent watches closely. In the background, a third figure—a prompter—whispers instructions from the shadows. The use of chiaroscuro adds volume and atmosphere, echoing the influence of Caravaggio’s school. The painterly skill of Georg Nußmann, an artist of the KPM manufactory, is revealed in the realistic rendering of fabric textures, expressive facial features, and subtle color gradations. The painting elevates the porcelain to the realm of fine art, evoking the spirit of Baroque masters.Marks:Impressed sceptre mark with KPM initials, mark “Sz”, model number 237–158, corresponding to the Royal Porcelain Manufactory (KPM), circa 1901.Dimensions:Plaque: 16 × 23.5 cmWith frame: Height: 34 cm, Width: 41.5 cm, Depth: 7 cmCondition: Good condition, without restorations or damage.Provenance: Germany, Berlin, early 20th century. An oval-shaped porcelain medallion decorated with a polychrome painting depicting a half-length portrait of the great Russian commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov (1730-1800). The Generalissimo is depicted in the uniform of the Preobrazhensky Regiment, with orders and awards testifying to his outstanding military merits. The composition is based on the portrait by Nicolas-Sebastien Frost (1790-1856), kept in the State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg. The medallion demonstrates a high degree of skill in miniature painting on porcelain, typical of the Russian and European traditions. Special elaboration of details, soft chiaroscuro modeling of the face, carefully drawn elements of the military uniform and awards emphasize the exceptional quality of execution. The background is kept in calm deep tones, creating a visual contrast with the figure of the commander. Dimensions: Height: 10 cm. Length: 7.5 cm. Condition: In good collectible condition. The large salon vase was created according to the model of Ernst August Leuteritz between 1860 and 1863 and is an outstanding example of Meissen porcelain of the late 19th century. The vase is made of two parts and is distinguished by its refined shape, reminiscent of a baluster with a fluted round foot and high curled handles. The elegant relief decor includes acanthus leaves, ornamental friezes and a sculpted pearl strip, giving the product a majestic and noble appearance. The main background of the vase is painted in a rich royal cobalt color, which effectively contrasts with the polychrome overglaze painting. On both sides of the body of the vase are depicted detailed bouquets of roses and chrysanthemums, executed with a high degree of skill. The rich gold trim and fine edging emphasise the sophistication and luxury of this work of art. The top of the vase bears an underglaze blue mark and a first-class mark, confirming the highest quality of production at the Meissen manufactory. The mark dates back to the period 1860-1924, which attests to the significant collectible value of this piece. References: Bergmann, Meissener Figuren, supplementary volume, p. 56, fig. 2100.
