    victorian davenport writing desk c.1850

This is a Victorian antique Davenport in burr walnut. An English desk, dating to c.1850.

This piece is in excellent condition. The ceramic casters below cabriole legs still allow it to roll effortlessly and the walnut burr finish is in excellent condition on all sides. The brass decorative gilding has had some repair work done to it at an unknown time, but still looks lovely. All drawers intact as well as the inkwell compartment slots. This piece has the benefit of not being restored, simply cared for and loved for the last 168 years and whilst it exhibits the history of use, it is in no way damaged and it is a fabulous piece of history that will grace any room.
