A fine Edwardian mahogany kidney shaped pedestal desk, offering elegant proportions, attractive period styling and a practical writing surface. The desk features a shaped green leather inset top above a curved frieze drawer, flanked by twin pedestals fitted with graduated drawers. The drawer fronts display well-figured mahogany veneers, decorative crossbanding and fine chequered stringing, complemented by brass swan neck handles and keyhole escutcheons.
The kidney shaped form gives the desk a refined and distinctive appearance, making it well suited to a study, library, office or period-inspired interior. The rear is also neatly finished with decorative panelled detail, allowing the piece to stand freestanding within a room rather than being placed only against a wall. Raised on square tapering legs with castors, this is a smart and usable antique desk with strong decorative appeal.
