Circa 1820, George III secretaire bookcase in figured Spanish mahogany. The upper section has classical astragal glazing with three adjustable shelves and fluted mahogany fronting; all surmounted by a simple figured mahogany frieze and neat classical cornice. The lower section has a long secretaire drawer which opens to reveal a fine fitted interior. Beneath are two mahogany doors opening to an impressive bank of nine mahogany drawers with finely turned handles. It is all standing on original bracket feet. This bookcase is all in original condition with rich colour and patina, and original Bramah locks and key.
