Circa 1820. A quality mahogany William IV secretaire cabinet bookcase, the cornice with an architectural pediment with fine beading and a raised section and a deep frieze, the front a pair of glazed doors with stylish astragals, with a brass beading separating the doors, inside with four adjustable shelves, the polished section in the base with a full-length secretaire drawer with gilded brass handles, elegant back plates and ring pull to the front, the inside is well appointed with various pigeon holes and drawers with turned and ribbed domed bone handles, and a felted writing surface, beneath this there is a pair of cupboards, the right-hand side and two drawers on the left-hand side, a single adjustable shelf, all resting on four squat turned bun feet, with excellent colour and patination and original glass.
