Circa 1780, exhibition quality George III mahogany and inlaid 4 door breakfront bookcase. With stylish cornice and moulded fore-edge, string inlay and downward facing teardrop shaped mouldings. With 4 glazed doors, Gothic style astragals and all doors framed in boxwood inlay, there are 4 adjustable shelves to each section, and a further 4 adjustable shelves to the 2 wings. The back is lined in water silk fabric, and there is a configuration of 4 doors beneath with matching flame mahogany veneers and inlaid frames and fore-edge. Inside the base, each section has 2 adjustable shelves. All standing on an enclosed plinth, with ogee moulding to the top, and retaining its original glass.
