Circa 1820, quality walnut George IV stool from Ayton Castle in Berwickshire. The rectangular shaped stool has a stuffover seat, over a double moulding on the sides. Underneath is a pine board to support the upholstery. The stool stands on four well carved walnut legs. There is a ring turning at the top over a carved acanthus leaves, a tapering section and then finishing on cast brass cup castors. Decent size, very sturdy, great provenance.
