This is an antique shipping trunk. A Continental, aluminium travelling chest, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
- Appealing tonality and of a generous size
- Could be used as a distinctive coffee table, or at the bedside
- Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
- Formed from aluminium, with steadfast rivet bonded finish
- Corners host robust steel caps
- Dressed with an ornamental clasp of German manufacture — key absent
- Pair of latches to the fascia hold the lid securely
- Interior finished with a mauve coloured textile, replete with storage pouch
- Delightful aged leather straps aid ease of carriage
