whytock & reid/lorimer walnut occasional table

Circa 1900, walnut occasional table made by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh after a design of Sir Robert Lorimer. The circular solid walnut top is simple with a slightly rounded fore edge. Beneath this there is a deep shaped apron which has matching flame walnut all the way around. From this there are 4 simple slightly cabriole legs, with a slightly rounded fore edge and flat sides and finishing on a stylised foot. The table has been re-polished, and has great style and elegance.
