Circa 1880, very unusual Italian snap top occasional table. The circular top is crossbanded in various woods and inlays. In the centre is a motif of two gentleman carrying a lady in a Sedan style chair. The top is hinged, and at the back is a section with various compartments and a lift out central piece. An unusual feature of the table is that the top can be locked with a key. The whole piece stands on a turned and bulbous column, finishing on tripod feet. Good quality, good colour and sturdy.
