A superb Victorian burr walnut triple wardrobe of impressive scale and outstanding decorative quality, dating to the mid 19th century. This elegant piece is richly figured throughout with beautifully matched burr walnut veneers, displaying striking grain patterns and warm tonal variation across all three doors.
The central door is fitted with a full length original mirror plate, framed within a shaped and moulded surround, and surmounted by an ornate carved crest featuring scrolling acanthus and floral detailing. The flanking doors mirror this refinement with raised moulded panels and finely carved embellishments, all sitting beneath a sweeping cornice with further carved ornamentation.
Internally, the wardrobe is exceptionally practical. The central section opens to reveal a bank of graduated drawers beneath sliding linen trays, ideal for folded garments and accessories. The side compartments provide full hanging space, each fitted with rails, making this a highly versatile storage piece suited to modern use while retaining its period charm.
The wardrobe breaks down into sections for ease of transport and installation. A fine example of Victorian craftsmanship, combining functionality with strong decorative presence, ideal as a statement piece in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
