An exquisite, good quality Victorian writing table, in original untouched condition, of particularly good colour and immense characterful patina. With an abundance of finely carved detail throughout.c.1860.

The rectangular top, having protruding rounded corners, with an inset green gold-tooled leather writing surface, with a fitted stationary box, having an ornate inlaid floral motif marquetry lid. Over two burr walnut fronted mahogany lined drawers, of fine dove-tail construction, with ornate carved handles, retaining the original brass locks and escutcheons. Beautifully and finely carved bulbous, fluted tapering supports, with the original porcelain castors.

In excellent antique condition, with a rich characterful patina.Very solid, sturdy, strong and robust. Drawers open evenly and smoothly.
