Circa 1860. A mid Victorian burr walnut three-part pedestal desk, the top with an insert tooled and gilded burgundy leather, with broad burr walnut banding and a moulded fore-edge, the frieze with one long drawer flanked by a pair of shorter drawers, each with cast brass swan neck handles with elegant back plates, resting on a pair of pedestals each with a bank of 3 drawers with similar handles and burr walnut facings, all with rounded corners and polished on all sides making the desk free standing, resting on an enclosed moulded plinth with concealed castors.
