Circa 1890, unusual oak clerk's desk with a cabinet top. The top has a simple but stylish cornice, ogee moulding, a flat edge and a half round and flat section. Beneath are 2 glazed doors, opening to reveal 2 adjustable shelves. A sloping clerk's desk is below this which is made in quarter sewn oak. In the centre it is hinged and inside there are various pigeon holes and some smaller drawers. The writing slope is at a slight angle with a flat section at the back. To the front of the piece is a simple apron and it all stands on 4 turned and tapering legs.
