Circa 1880. Impressive George I style burr walnut settee. The stunning open back with twin vasiform splats with acanthus carved crowns and folded scrolls to the side. The shaped arms above a lift-out seat with tapestry-style upholstery and moulded seat rails with acanthus decorations. Supported on three cabriole front legs with acanthus-carved knees over deeply carved ball and claw feet and with outswept rear supports over pad feet. In excellent condition with a lovely mellow colour and great patina.
