exhibition quality burr walnut teapoy

Circa 1860. A rare and unusual early Victorian burr walnut circular teapoy. The top with fine burr walnut with a simple moulded fore edge, hinged and opens to a burr walnut lined interior, the center section has a sunken well with two oval canisters in the finest burr walnut and a pair of glass mixing bowls. The inside of the lid is also finished in fine burr walnut, the circular shaped body with dragooning on the edge. The teapoy rests on a very unusual and stylish turned, fluted and tapering stem, finishing with a stylish carved collar and resting on three hipped cabriole legs with rondels on the inside and finishing on a very stylish foot.
