Circa 1870. A large Flemish carved oak and stained leaded stained-glass cabinet bookcase, the top surmounted by a carved shaped pediment the frieze with foliate carving on the top and bottom, the three stained glass doors flanked by profusely carved pilasters including faces, lion masks and fruit open to 3 adjustable shelves, the base section with a carved fore-edge and three shaped drawers with three large cupboards below, each with carved scenes, flanked by similar pilasters as the top, beneath is a profusely carved base with a flared plinth which follows the form of the bookcase.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
