william iv scottish barrel front chest of drawers

Circa 1830, William IV mahogany and brass inlaid Scottish barrel fronted chest of drawers. The low chest has a wonderful top with large swirling mahogany grain. Below the top is a small moulded edge with double ebony inlay and below this a small apron. There are four graduating drawers with wooden knob handles, and the drawers have a single brass inlay and ebony string inlay on the edge. There are simple brass escutcheons and two pilasters on each side which again have brass inlay. Below the bottom drawer there is a small apron with double inlay and the chest stands on unusual squat fluted feet.
