Circa 1890, exhibition quality Victorian 4-door breakfront mahogany bookcase. Surmounted by a tiered moulded cornice with a Gothic apron over 4 tall glazed doors, separated and flanked by Doric columns and opening to adjustable shelving. The base with a moulded waist, plum pudding mahogany top and hidden moulded frieze drawers is over 4 panelled cupboard doors with rosette decorated corners. These open to shelves and mahogany lined drawers and have their original brass handles, with the stamp and label of renowned cabinetmakers ‘Fras and Jas Smith, Union Street, Glasgow’ found on several drawers/doors.
