Circa 1870, unusual Victorian mahogany bedside cabinet. The style of it indicates it has come off a ship. The tall narrow bedside has a solid mahogany top and three quarter wrap around gallery. There is a rounded moulded edge outside of this and mouldings beneath the top, a small frieze and a beading which wraps around the front and sides. The single mahogany door has a knob handle and unusually the centre of the door is open slatted, as are the two gables. Inside are two fixed shelves with mahogany facings. On each side of the door is a half rounded corner like a quarter column. Beneath the door is a moulded edge and the whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth. Very unusual piece of Victorian furniture.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
