Circa 1890, Sheraton style mahogany and inlaid dressing table. The large mahogany framed shield shaped bevelled edge mirror is held in position by wonderful cast brass supports capped with finials and fixed to the dressing table by a turned column and a lovely stylish swirling brass rod which finishes with cast brass flower heads on both the front and back. Beneath this are two raised jewel drawers with flamed mahogany panels, oval cast brass handles and various inlays. Beneath the mirror are two quarter blocks again with satinwood, shell and various inlays. The large mahogany surface has a moulded edge, over a combination of 5 various drawers with matching inlays and cast brass oval handles. Beneath the central drawer is a small apron with quarter brackets similar to that beneath the mirror, and a small shelf. The whole piece stands on 6 square tapering and inlaid legs finishing on brass and black porcelain castors. Excellent colour and good condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
