Circa 1860, good set of 6 Scottish Victorian mahogany dining chairs. The solid mahogany curved top rail has a small reeded section on the inside with a turned end. This is attached to the back with a mahogany tapering upright. The chairs have a stuffover seat which is held in place by gimp. Below the seat there is a double moulded edge which runs around the front and the sides. The front legs are bulbous at the top and tapers into an elegant turned section. Beneath this there is a few ring sections and a raised turned foot. The back legs are square, tapered and outswept. The chairs are clean, good colour and patination.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
