Circa 1860, set of 14 Scottish mahogany dining chairs, consisting of 12 side chairs and 2 arm chairs. With shaped top rail with foliate carving and stuff over leather seats. The back legs are square, tapering and slightly out swept. A simple moulded apron continues around the sides, to the shaped, curved front, and the legs are turned, ring turned, fluted, and tapering. The armchairs have sturdy shaped arms held in place by curved uprights.
