Circa 1880, very rare and desirable pair of narrow hall tables, with variegated green marble tops on an elegant satinwood table with marquetry panels. The frieze has 3 panels, with an almost herringbone satinwood inlay on the left and right panels framed in mahogany. There is a central breakfront panel with 4 roundels which have floral marquetry in the centre. The gables are similar to the front with satinwood framed panels. The tops of the legs have wonderful cast brass acanthus leaves, and the 2 elegant fluted tapering legs finish on cast sabots in the form of acanthus leaves. Condition and quality is wonderful.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
