Circa 1860, mid Victorian tray top table. The large papier-mâché tray, has stylish gilding and painting. The centre of the tray has honeycombed due to age, but has a good, stylish look about it. The tray is on a later Georgian-style rectangular stand, which is on ebonised, turned, gilded and tapering legs. The legs are united by a cross-over cruciform stretcher, again with turning and gilding. This would make a fine coffee table, a good adaptation.
