Circa 1890. Magnificent late Victorian inlaid mahogany wardrobe by Maple and Co of London. The shaped front with a cavetto cornice over a boxwood and rosewood inlaid frieze. The wardrobe sides flanked by octagonal and turned pillars with fluted and acanthus decorations and with two full-length twin panelled doors with quarter veneered flame mahogany with art Nouveau boxwood and satinwood inlay and mahogany cross banding and original art Nouveau style handles. Their hanging interiors with beautiful quarter veneered sides and one mirror. Centrally are twin half-length doors, opening to 4 sliding drawers, over 4 small drawers and 3 long graduated drawers with quarter veneered fronts. All supported on tapering turned legs. Exhibition quality.
