Circa 1830, late George IV rosewood ledged back chiffonier. With a single shelf to the back and a stylish pediment with a foliate carving at the top. It features beading that continues down the architectural back and finishes in a scroll. The single shelf is held in place by carved brackets and beneath is a fielded panel section. There is a large flat surface with figured rosewood with a cross banded fore-edge. Beneath this there are 2 drawers with a beaded bottom and mahogany liners. The front of the chiffonier has 2 full turned slightly tapering columns and inside there are 2 doors. The doors have brass mesh trestle panels with folded fabric behind them, and inside is a single shelf. The piece stands on an enclosed plinth with break fronts at the base of the columns.
