Circa 1820, George IV mahogany chest of drawers. The rectangular top has a reeded fore edge below it. There is also reeding around the drawers. The four drawers are graduating and have original cast brass knob handles and a stylish proud escutcheon. Under the bottom drawer on the base of the chest there is a name and a date. There is an unusual deep proportion between each of the drawers. The chest was originally made in two pieces for ease of use or perhaps military officer purposes, but has been fixed together into one piece at a later stage. Below the bottom drawer is a lovely shaped apron and the whole piece stands on four elegant original bracket feet. Unusual and stylish.
