Circa 1900, George II style walnut glazed bookcase. The rectangular top has wonderful matching veneers with a crossbanded edge, over the apron with fluted sections. On either side of the doors are fluted pilasters in the same style as the apron. There are two glazed doors with rounded mouldings and a brass escutcheon, and crossbanded half round astragals. The interior is painted green and there are two shelves with similar facings to the astragals. Beneath the doors is an ogee moulding and a stylish shaped apron and the bookcase finishes on stylish carved cabriole legs with shells on the knees and ball and claw feet. Neat size, great colour and patination.
