Circa 1920, George II style walnut and burr walnut block front dressing table. The mirror has a slightly gilded bezel and is contained in a walnut frame with a shaped top. It is held in place by two brass brackets with butterfly knobs, on two square concave and reeded uprights topped by bone finials. The top of the table is crossbanded in walnut and has a very stylish double ogee moulded fore edge. Beneath the top is a single drawer in burr walnut which has two cast brass drops with very stylish back plates, above a shaped apron. The whole piece stands on four tall carved cabriole legs, with scrolling quarter brackets and finishing on carved toes. Neat size, great colour and good condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
