Circa 1930, French style Cherrywood library table/desk. The black leather top is tooled and the gilding is slightly worn. There are pull out slides on both the left and right hand side to give more working surface with brass axe head drop handles. The fore edge has an ogee moulding and beneath this are 3 drawers with cast brass handles. The desk is polished on all sides and freestanding, with fielded panels on the sides and back. The whole piece stands on elegant turned, tapering and fluted legs finishing on brass cup castors.
