Circa 1860. Mid Victorian burr walnut pedestal desk. The top with the green tooled and gilded leather insert with broad crossbanding, and a wonderful figured walnut moulded fore-edge the front with 3 drawers in the frieze each with cast brass knob handles, middle drawer with working lock, the desk with rounded corners, the back of the desk is polished the top rests on a pair of pedestal each with a bank of 4 drawers flanked by a pair of pilasters, 1 hinged and lockable (similar to a wellington chest) the locking mechanism working, the back with 4 faux drawers on each pedestal and pilasters ,resting on simple block feet (3 part desk).
