Circa 1770. An important carved mahogany sideboard from the estate of ‘Lord Leverhulme’. The massive shaped sideboard with the one piece top in the finest Cuban mahogany, the shaped front with finely carved dragooning with extra foliate carvings in the corners, the shaped frieze with a center of pairs of swags and tails with carved flower-heads and carved rondels, he rest of the frieze follows the form of the top and is beaded at the bottom, resting on six profusely carved legs each headed with a carved corbel with foliate carving on the front and scrolling on the sides, the stylish legs are also carved in sections which tapering from top to bottom, all supported on large square blocks.
