Circa 1970, large oak framed Orkney chair by Kirkness of Kirkwall. In the classic Orkney style with a high back in straw and a top rail woven with marram grass. The drop-in seat is in marram grass and it is stamped beneath the front rail. The arms finish in a small scroll end and the square back legs are outswept, whilst the front legs have a deep apron and are all connected by stretchers.
