A fine quality Victorian rosewood kidney-shaped writing desk, beautifully proportioned and richly figured. The moulded top is inset with a tooled green leather writing surface, framed by a delicate pierced gallery with turned finials. The shaped frieze contains a series of small drawers, providing useful storage. Supported on boldly turned and spiral-carved end supports, united by a central stretcher, the desk is raised on scrolled and carved feet. A striking and elegant piece of 19th century design, perfect as both a functional desk and a statement furniture item.
