This is a small antique apprentice-piece chest. An Anglo-Indian, carved teak Colonial keepsake box, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

• Petite scholar's miniature coffer with accomplished carved detailing
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Select teak stocks present warm caramel hues and fine grain interest
• Panelled carvings host flowerhead motif, with broad petal detail
• Foliate borders and naive chip carved corners add further distinction
