Circa 1890. Quality set of 10 mahogany ladder back chairs, consisting of 8 singles and two arms. The shaped and reeded top rail with foliate carving on the ends, three stylish shaped and pierced cross rails form the back, with two stylish and curved arms with paper fold scrolling ends are supported on shaped uprights. The drop in needle point upholstered seats with a simple seat rail, back legs are square and slightly out swept and front legs are square with a reeded corner chamfered on the inside braced by conforming stretchers. The chairs have excellent colour and patination.
