Circa 1815. A large stylish George IV burr-elm free standing library table, the rectangular top with rounded corners with the finest burr-elm laid out in panels, joined by wavy sections, the fore-edge with reel carving, the narrow frieze conceals two drawers at the front, veneered in walnut with a fine beading beneath, supported on a pair of turned and carved stems with a well carved collar, all resting on a pair of elongated platform bases which follow the form of the uprights, with four squat tulip shaped feet with concealed castors beneath. The table has excellent colour and patination.
