Circa 1930, rare and exceptional pair of Whytock and Reid figured walnut side tables or buffets. The rectangular tops with rounded corners and a shaped gallery have oval foliate carved insets. Beneath is a small rounded frieze with carved foliate panels, above open shelves separated by the central leg. Beneath are two moulded front, cross banded drawers with brass ring handles and heart-shaped mother-of-pearl escutcheons with a neat shaped apron beneath. All supported on cabriole supports with well carved acanthus knees and classic Lorimer design pad feet.
