Circa 1970s. A quality pair of Regency style scumbled and gilded X framed window seats, the curved seats upholstered in patterned horse hair, supported on curved rails scumbled and gilded, the curvaceous top rail supporting two lifting handles centered with gilded acanthus leaves, the crossover section is headed by a gilded scallop shell with foliate carving, the sweeping legs are braced by gilded stretchers, finishing on a curled foot with gilded balls beneath. Both stools are in excellent condition, clean and stylish.
