Circa 1820, exhibition quality pair of Dutch marquetry side chairs. The mahogany chairs are profusely inlaid on the front and back. The curved back has satinwood and ebony line inlay, the front splat has a marquetry panel with flowers, birds, the central splat has floral marquetry. The uprights covered in floral marquetry. The base of the uprights has carved flower heads. The chairs are covered in silk fabric, with a simple apron with floral marquetry. There is a slight sabre leg front and back. Unusually the sides and back are all covered in marquetry as well. Excellent condition.
