pair of circular mahogany and brass occasional tables

Circa 1860 and later, pair of circular mahogany occasional tables. One top is in grained mahogany, and both sit on an unusual brass base, with uprights running down the full length. Between them are brass horse-shoe shaped sections and these connect to the legs, and in the centre is a cast brass foot with stretcher, and a heraldic shield engraved ‘J. Rain and Don, Funeral Director, Gateshead on Tyne’. They could be used as coffee or side tables, and the brass has been lacquered.
