Circa 1880. A teak and brass bound military chest of diminutive proportions. The rectangular top with cast brass corners and strapping in the center, with two short drawers over one full length drawer, the top right hand drawer has a makers mark, ‘Army & Navy G & L makers’, and polished brass locks stamped, ‘ Hobbs London, machine made lever locks’. All the drawers have flush brass military handles and brass strapping, the underside of the chest has four squat bun feet with no markings or indications that it has been anything other than a small military chest.

With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
