Circa 1860. The generous sized mid-Victorian mahogany two part brass bound military chest, with elegant quarter brass brackets to the top with brass strapping on all the corners, the front with a configuration of four full length drawers, each with a large stylish brass escutcheon and a pair of flush brass military handles. Above each of the drawers there is a small brass plate (to reinforce the lock), and the original ‘P&R Walkers’ locks. The inside of the drawers are lined in ash and sycamore, another unusual feature is the bottom section has a pair of flush brass military lifting handles, all resting on classic squat bun feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
