Circa 1800. Quality Dutch marquetry-inlaid walnut block fronted bureau. The top inlaid with panels of flowers and foliage in exotic woods above the flap with engraved brass escutcheon, working lock and key and wonderfully marquetry of vase of flowers, foliage, and birds. The interior with sliding well and marquetry inlaid drawers and pigeonholes. The base with two small drawers above three shaped front drawers with further marquetry panels. Exquisite marquetry inlay on both gables and all supported on marquetry inlaid shaped bracket feet.
