Circa 1800. A late George III rosewood, satinwood and banded fold over card table. The D shaped top in well figured rosewood with boxwood and ebony string inlay, broad satinwood banding and further inlays, the hinged top opens to reveal a felt lined interior with boxwood and rosewood framing, the 2 back legs are hinged and swing out to support the top when open, the frieze which follows the form of the top with string inlay on rosewood, the table rests on 4 elegant squared tapering legs with diamond inlay with an arch with a dot above it, in the manner of ’Bruce and Burns of Edinburgh’

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
