18th Century Walnut Bureau

A fine 18th century walnut bureau of attractive compact proportions, with a fall front above a fitted interior and arrangement of drawers.
The sloping fall is crossbanded and opens to reveal a fitted interior with small drawers, pigeonholes and a central cupboard, above a green writing surface. Below are two short drawers over three long drawers, fitted with brass handles and shaped escutcheons.
The bureau stands on bracket feet and displays attractive walnut colour, figuring and crossbanded detail throughout. A practical and elegant antique bureau, ideal for use as a writing desk, hallway piece, bedroom piece or decorative storage cabinet.
