An elegant Edwardian mahogany bureau bookcase of well-balanced proportions, the upper section fitted with a pair of astragal-glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelving, ideal for books or display. The moulded cornice is surmounted by a shaped swan-neck pediment centred with an inlaid rosette, adding architectural presence. Below, the fall-front bureau opens to reveal a fitted interior, the exterior decorated with a central oval inlaid motif. The lower section comprises a graduated arrangement of four long drawers, each fitted with brass swan-neck handles and retaining their original locks. Raised on shaped bracket feet, the piece displays a rich, warm mahogany tone with fine inlay detailing throughout, making it both a practical and decorative addition to a study, library, or living space.
